The Nor-West Jets had two players selected in the final 25 man squad to contest the 150th Anniversary NSW Regional Titles at Wagga Wagga over the June Long Weekend.
Andrew Shagga Travers (pictured) and Casey BOFT Wenselowski were selected to represent Sydney AFL 1st Division, but unfortunatley work commitments prevented BOFT from playing his part, being sent interstate for a month, much to the disappointment of himself, and more so his new house mate.
Shagga played a successful ruck combination with Manly's Kurt Hayward, kicking three goals against Sapphire Coast in the first pool game, and contributing many fine possessions in Sydney's defeat of North Coast FL and Canberra Districts FL, securing Sydney 1st place in Pool B of the Statewide Cup.
Unfortunately Shagga succumbed to a niggling injury picked up over the three shortened games on the saturday, and was unable to play in the repachage game against Pool A's Hume League on the sunday, which the Hume won by a comfortable margin.
Shagga and BOFT's selection sees them with the rare distinction of dual representatives, with both players also making the Air Force Hawks Rep Team in April, a feat not achieved before in Nor-West Jets history, and both players should be congratulated on this remarkable achievement.
Congratulations to both players, and also to the three other players who were nominated for selection: Jack Pascoe, Stephen Davidson and Gerard Smits.
