SENIORS MATCH REPORT vs MOOREBANK SPORTS MAGPIES
The Jets Senior team headed to Rosedale Oval for the first time since 2004 to take on Moorebank Sports in what shaped to be a difficult game, as has been the case over the last few years. Its never an easy task to take the points away from Rosedale, and the Jets knew that this was no different. After a solid week on the track, training to a strict game plan, the Jets hit their straps early, strong defensive work keeping the Magpies to a single goal, while adding 5 of their own, with Aaron Snowy Clayden displaying his class in the middle and in the forwards, on his way to a five goal haul for the night. With similar jumpers, both teams had simple turn overs, but it was Nor-West who adapted better, playing their short game well and switching the ball across the vast expanses of Rosedale, the half back line of Aaron Hank Bayne, Jake Plums Berry & Paul Wanga Sherwood proving impassable all game. Mick Cranky Craigie was providing a focal point at Centre Half Forward, taking numerous marks and quick hands for runners Stephen Stav Davidson, Owen Dildo Butcher and Gerard Ged Smits, the “spiritual leader” of Bensons Lane these days! The second quarter was much the same, the Jets using the ball to great effect, going into half time with a lead of 55 points, the Magpies still with a solitary goal to their credit. Captain Casey BOFT Wenselowski, playing with a neck injury, was giving the home side’s defence a headache, scoring four goals resting in a forward pocket.
Moorebank managed to ease the pain in the third term, but more so the Jets were too goal hungry, adding 3 goals 5 behinds, but still keeping the ball camped in their forward 50. Small runners James Jimmeh Cadet, Mick Yeenis Yee and Josh Howie Howe were hitting the feet of the packs, feeding crumbing goal sneaks Chris Disco Kyle and Scott Cindy Braid all day, while the evergreen Nick General Milkins made solid inroads changing out of the middle to full forward with Clayden, turning back the clock with a vintage performance, earning praise from the Jets peanut gallery behind the bench.
The fourth term was an even affair, with the Pies using the wide ground to advantage in a good arm wrestle, but the last 10 minutes was all blue and white, with quick disposal to the forwards resulting in three rapid goals, Clayden the catalyst with some sublime skill, feeding his runners, and sending the competition a message that he is in rare form this year.

RESERVES MATCH REPORT vs MOOREBANK SPORTS MAGPIES
With three convincing wins under our belts and top position firmly in our grasp the Jets headed to Rosedale for a twilight game against Moorebank Sports. The Jets hit the ground full of run and continued to ‘set the standard’ with quick clearances from the centre bounces and amassed a five goal lead by the end of the term. Jack Pedro Wilson in the ruck was feeding his on-ballers on a plate, Chris Junna Collins and Matt Mavros Davidson tearing through the middle, delivering to forwards Daniel DeeGee Graham and Nathan Duttas Dutschke in his first game since 2005. The second quarter started with the same degree of determination and endeavour with the more fancied Jets kicking a further five goals to lead by 59 points at half time, the Pies getting no favours in their forwards, with defenders Russell Rusty Fox, Anthony Joycey Joyce, Paul Boggsy Sutcliffe and Paul Vashy Vachalec in his season debut sending the ball forward with barely a touch on them. The second half started in fading light and saw Moorebank take advantage of the conditions and kick 5 goals to 2 for the quarter. For the first time this season the Jets were challenged and heads began to drop while Moorebank took advantage of the lack of chase and ran the ball the length of the ground on several occasions. A few key changes were made, with Jesse Bruza Bray moved to centre half forward on debut, Mick Sunshine Gray in his first game to rover, showing silky skills, and Brett Bertie Carroll owning his wing, picking up numerous touches.
After a three quarter time spray by the coach the Jets got back to business and despite poor conversion in front of goals they managed to wrestle back control of the game and restrict the buoyant Moorebank to 1 goal for the quarter. This was the type of game we have been looking for to provide some much needed competition and prepares us well for the game next week against UTS.
