SENIORS MATCH REPORT vs PENRITH RAMS
The Jets hosted local rivals Penrith on Sunday in conditions thats can only be described as near-cyclonic, with the Hawkesbury Doctor blowing straight arcoss the ground from the beginning of the day, and only dying down briefly in the final term.
After both teams paid their respects to out Service men and women with a minute silence during The Last Post, the Jets began the game brighter, with a quick forward movement and the first two goals of the game. Clean ruck work by Dale Boots Wellington enabled the midfield of Aaron Snowy Clayden, Casey BOFT Wenselowski and Owen Dildo Butcher, ably supported by Nick General Milkins, Jack Sparrow Pascoe and Adam Foxy Fox, to win possession and saw some great delivery to key forwards Mick Cranky Craigie, Stewart Pottsy Potts, Sam Mako Makins and crumbing forwards Chris Disco Kyle and Stephen Stav Davidson, who added pressure to the Rams defence. The Rams finished the first quarter with a few goals of their own, and the Jets were forced to reshape their backline with full-back and coach Peter Pekay Kyle pinching a nerve in his back, taking no further part in the game.
In a decisive strategic move, Australian Defence Force All-Star representative Jake Plums Berry was moved to centre half back for the remainder of the contest, and played the perfect game, taking several marks and shifting the ball down the live wing, rewarding the run of Aaron Hank Bayne and Daniel Guffo Guthridge from the backs. Paul Wanga Sherwood played a classy game across half back, and playing loose with no opponent he set up countless forward forays, using Gerard Ged Smits and Don Duck Waterston to great effect. The Jets piled on 5 goals to 2 in the second quarter to take a 29 point advantage to the long break.
Penrith started the all important third term with 2 quick goals, but it was to no avail, as the local team replied with interest, kicking a further 5 and keeping Penrith to 3, all the while using the handpass and switching the play to the attacking side of the ground. An unfortunate hand injury to key forward Stewart Potts, who was taken to hospital for scans, soured the mood, and Nor-West had even more reason not to put the cue in the rack yet. Penrith are renown for never throwing in the towel, but the Jets fitness, due to a long and tough pre-season, was starting to pay dividends. The Rams trailed by 49 points, and had plenty of work to do to keep the hosts from winning.
In the end, the Jets superior skills and fitness made the difference, kicking 4 goals and restricting the Rams to a single goal, with miserly defence and constant support running being the key, and rebound footy off half back the telling factor. Chris Kyle played the perfect small forwards game, kicking 2 last term goals to finish with 4, and the Jets winning their first local derby since 2007, and kicking accurately despite the gale.

RESERVES MATCH REPORT vs PENRITH RAMS
After what can only be described as easy wins in the first two rounds the Jets were looking for the local derby against Penrith to provide some much needed competition. With a strong wind blowing across Bensons Lane conditions were not conducive to good football and the game got off to a very scrappy start. Jack Pedro Wilson and Greg Stretch Allen dominated at the centre bounces and the Jets were able to clear the ball from the centre consistently. Although the strong wind and steely defence from the Rams restricted the scoring the Jets were able to build a healthy lead mid way through the first quarter. A short lapse of concentration in the latter part of the quarter saw the Rams kick two quick goals and shorten the margin to 8 points at the break. The Jets regained their ascendancy during the second quarter and posted 5 goals 3 to 1 goal 1 to lead by 34 points at the long break. The Rams defence and the strong wind continued to make it difficult to convert on the scoreboard but to the Jets credit they stuck to their game plan and got the ball into open spaces. Exceptional efforts from Daniel Lenny Langford, first gamer Josh Howie Howe and Chris Taxi Mattingly provided drive from all parts of the ground and restricted scoring opportunities for the Rams. The Jets fitness and skill level once again allowed them to take complete control of the game and run away to a 55 point win to maintain their top position. Credit must go to all Jets players for maintaining a high level of discipline during the entire game despite some cheap shots from their opposition.
