Hawkesbury Junior Daniel Spiteri, who now plays in the 1st grade for the East Coast Eagles, the clubs Premier Division affiliate, played his second game with the Sydney Swans Reserves last week againist Tuggeranong in the AFL Canberra League at ANZ Stadium before the Essendon match.
Daniel kicked a goal in the Swans 49 point win. His first game for them was in the round before againist Queanbeyan at the SCG where he had a day out kicking 3 goals and getting in the best in at side that had 3 Swans Premiership players Nick Davis, Nic Fosdike & Ben Mathews. Not a bad effort for a kid that is 4 foot nothing.
Daniel was also Best on Ground for East Coast in the 2007 Sydney AFL Premier Division Reserves Grand Final win over long time rivals, Pennant Hills.
The entire club and community wishes Daniel, or "Boonie" as he is now known, all the best in his pursuit of the highest honours in football.
Good luck Daniel, and congatulations.
