Saturday at Bensons Lane saw dual premiership player Paul Vachalec play his 50th Club Game for the Nor-West Jets, in the reserve grade's thrilling one point win over top four team, the Southern Sharks.
Vach led the team onto the ground in his milestone game, and led from the front all day, gathering some important touches off the half-back flank, and intimidating the Sharks players with his usual tough uncompromising style of play.
Vach started his footy at the defunct Greystanes Boomers, before being enticed back to junior footy by long time school mate Peter Kyle. Vach and PK have played footy together since the mid-90s, winning the Under 15s Northside flag for Seven Hills Bombers over long time rivals, and was an inaugural member of the Western Jets 18s team in 1997, and also 1998. Vach resumed his senior footy for the also defunct St Clair Crows, before following his heart back to Nor-West Jets in 2003. Vach played an integral part in the Jets back-to-back flags in 2005/06, and will become the 13th player in Jets history to play 50 club games.
Congratulations to Vach from all your family at Bensons Lane.
