Congratulations to Don "Duck" Waterston on reaching his 50th Senior Grade game against Penrith in the local derby on Saturday 19.04.08.
Duck was promoted to the Seniors after a premier performance against the Sharks in the twos the previous week, and reclaimed his beloved wing spot, setting up several forward sorties and tackling with renewed vigour. Duck even got onto the goal sheet with a great goal in the Seniors nailbiter against the Rams.
Duck is a local junior, joining Hawkesbury from the Sandgate Sea-Hawks in Queensland, and played right through to Senior level. Duck earned his club Life Membership in 2006 after 10 years playing service. Duck was unlucky to miss out on the Jets Grand Final in 2005 with a hand injury, but worked hard the following year to earn his spot in the 2006 team, playing on the wing and a few on-ball cameos and gaining selection in the 2006 GF against the Bulldogs.
Duck has played Representative footy for the Emergency Services Team through his work in Corrective Services, and also plays at a high level in his other love, OzTag. Duck is known around the Hawkesbury for his movie star good looks, which has seen him gain a contract as the face of Chesty Bonds singlets.
Congratulations Duck on achieving this milestone, and Duck is a certainty to be the first Jets player to reach 100 Club Games, playing 92 to Gerard Smits' 91. Good luck to both players.
