North Shore have set up a final round showdown with Sydney
University for a place in the 2008 Sydney AFL finals series with a
solid 79 point win over the Wollongong Lions at Gore Hill on Saturday.
For this round
North Shore welcomed the return of several key players, none more prominent than club captain Mark
Livy
who returned to the side following an extended break from football. It
was however once again the form of Bombers youngsters Lachlan Pryor and
Brendan Fitzgerald that set up the win for
North Shore.
For Pryor it was his third consecutive best on ground performance
making him the in form on baller of the competition at the moment. For
Fitzgerald he once again revelled in the opportunity to play in the
middle of the ground gathering plenty of possessions for
North Shore. Despite being only 9 points up at half time, it was
North
Shore’s second half performance that put a smile on the face of the Bomber fans with
North Shore
kicking 17 goals to set up the win. Ron Wason once again continued his
good form up forward and finished with 5 goals. Some of
North Shore’s more senior players were also prominent with Nick Egan, Ryan Meldrum and Ben Attwood also in form. The win now puts
North
Shore in a position to make the finals but they must beat
