Seniors
With
only three rounds to go before the 2008 finals series, North Shore
needed to post another win to keep their finals dream alive. And keep
it alive they did with a strong 36 point win effectively ending the
finals hopes of opponent Western Suburbs. The win was set up in the
first quarter with Lachlan Pryor continuing his outstanding form from
last week, Brendan Fitzgerald collecting plenty of possessions and
David Conway winning the contest in the midfield. Nick Egan playing at
Centre Half Back was stopping everything in the Western Suburbs forward
line and at the end of the first quarter the Bombers were holding a 5
goal lead and looked to have the advantage. In the next three quarters
the game was fairly even but North Shore managed to keep their lead in
tact finishing the game 6 goals ahead. The North Shore coaching staff
will be looking forward to the next two rounds which see North Shore
take on Wollongong and Sydney University with both games at Gore Hill
Oval. The final game against Sydney Uni is likely to determine the
last place in the 2008 Sydney AFL finals series.
