Seniors
Balmain
secured their second win of season 2008 with a strong performance
against an out of form North Shore at Drummoyne Oval today. The
Dockers came out strong early heading into the first break with a 5
goal lead which the Bombers managed to peg back to 2 points at half
time. It was a more determined Balmain however that took
the field in the second half producing a solid two quarter effort to
win by 36 points. Chris Murphy, Brendan Fitzgerald and Ben Attwood tried hard all day for the Bombers. A win today would have seen North Shore right in contention for the finals but the loss is a big set back for the side. Next
week they come up against one of the form sides of the competition in
UNSW-ES Bulldogs and will need to improve markedly over the next few
weeks to have any hope of defending their 2007 premiership.
