The North Shore Head Coach Gareth Lawson has advised the club that he is stepping down from his role. With two wins in its last 3 games and a very credible performance against second placed Pennant Hills, the senior side is showing clear signs of improvement, but unfortunately Gareth is unable to continue the work he started.
The club thanks Gareth for his efforts at North Shore this year, particularly given difficult personal circumstances, and also for last season when he coached the reserves team. His tactical expertise and dedicated service to the club are sincerely appreciated. Gareth leaves the senior coaching role with the club’s best wishes and we hope to see him around the club in another role in the near future.
This has created a vacancy for the senior coaching role, and we are pleased to announce that Damian Whittle has accepted the role of Head Coach for the remainder of this season.
Damian has been around the club for a long time as a player and later as a committee member, football operations manager, reserves coach and assistant coach. Damian’s commitment to the club and his solid football knowledge are well known around North Shore.
As we say thank you to Gareth and welcome to Damian, our attention switches to this weekend’s blockbuster fixture with all sides playing Manly in what are sure to be keenly fought contests. It will be a great weekend at Gore Hill, so see you there!!
