After a considerable amount of review and discussion over the past month or so, the club has come to the conclusion that it is unlikely we will be able to consistently field a 4's team in 2015.
We have had over 170 players train during pre-seseason, so nominally we have more than enough players for 5 teams, but over the past few weeks it has become apparent that there aren't enough players who can commit to playing regularly enough for us to successfully field this team. For round 1 for example, we were 8 to 10 players short.
I have a personal preference for fielding a 4's team, but the reality is that if we were to go ahead we would expose the club to fines for forfeits, we would adversely impact the div 5 competition and we'd place considerable pressure on our coaches and managers to fill this team each week. In light of all of this, we've reached the conclusion that we couldn't go ahead withe the team this year. I expect this situation will change in coming seasons and we will review at the end of this season whether to nominate a div 5 team for 2016.
This development will mean that some weeks we will have a surpluses of players, so as we have done in the past, we will look to rotate players through the 2's, 3's and 19's to make sure that all committed players get a good number of games for the season.
if you have any questions in relation to this, please didn't hesitate ask me or your coach.
