Last week saw the the Jets knock up 2 out of 3 wins for the club. The u18’s and Seniors notched up wins but the Reserves couldn’t keep their winning streak going.
The u18’s had 8 different goals scorers for the game with 1st gamer Blake Couzin helping himself to 2 and fellow 1st gamer Sunday Achiek working his way nicely into the game the longer it went. Half time saw the Jets up by only 3 points but in a dominant 2nd half they kicked 8 goals to 2 with Adam Braid continuing his strong marking from last week. This week the 18’s welcome the Southern Power to Bensons Lane who are sitting a top of the ladder.

The Reserves ran with Manly in the 1st stanza and only a goal split the 2 teams at qtr time. Micheal Yee was giving the Jets good drive but the 2nd qtr saw Manly start to get on top and kicked 4 goals to 1 in the 2nd and opened up a 25 point half time lead. Peter Richardson and Steve Steaszek were working tirelessly for the Jets but they could only manage 1 goal in the 3rd qtr to Manly’s 3. The last qtr saw the Jets halt Manly’s drive restricting them to 1 major while adding 2 of their own and Peter Kyle finished with 3 majors for the game.

The Seniors had another tough game against the Wolves but the low scoring tight contest kept a good crowd enthralled in the encounter. Neither side could get a decent break on the other and the Jets backline was keeping them in the game and halftime gave both sides a chance to regroup and reset for what was to become another tight half of football. 3qtr time saw the Jets down and it would take the first 2 goals of the quarter to get them in front. Josh Howe slotted the 1st from the boundary in front of the large gathering at the clubrooms and when Daniel Graham snapped truly from the point post on the same side the crowd erupted and this was all the Jets required to spur them on. Manly were not going to go down without a fight and goaled themselves but in the end the Jets had their noses in front by 2 goals when the siren went to the joy of all who had attended our ladies and sponsors day.
Thank you to all who help volunteer throughout the day to make it a success and a very special thank you to Christiane’s Plumpton and the Body Shop Blacktown for their generous donations. Marie, Geana & all the Jets ladies for their donations towards the day thank you from everyone.
