The Jets headed to Goanna Park in Greystanes to take on last placed Holroyd-Parramatta in Round 5 action, and welcomed back Chris Kyle, in a Rod Frost-esque out of retirement game after only 2 matches. The first quarter saw a bright start to the Jets, although they failed to capitalise on a handy breeze to their advantage. Steve Davidson picked up where he left off the week before, gathering touches like he had his own footy, and was well supported by Daniel Langford. It was 3 goals apiece at quarter time, with the Goannas' wayward kicking saving the Jets from a bigger margin.
The Jets steadied in the second term, with the half back line of Mick Yee, in a dominant performance, and 18s gun Seb Goldrick setting up plenty of inside 50s for a return of 4 goals. Matt Brophy was a rock at full back, leading the defence in keeping the home side to only 3 goals, while the Kyle boys added a few each to take a slender 5 point break at half time.
Joe Pajeska started to subdue the influence of ex Jet Fernando Lobendahn in the ruck, while Scott Braid and 18s enforcer Harry Stever snagged 2 goals each, as the Jets added 10 goals to 6 in a strong second half, including a goal each to Kev Conroy and Simon Jay in his second game for the club.

The Nor-West Jets seniors were away at Sydney Uni last week and managed to get off to a good start with Michael Gray kicking a great goal from the boundary to start the scoring for the day. Unfortunately for the Jets that was as good as it was going to get as they were given a lesson in hard running team football by the students who managed to open up 59 point half time lead. A handful of Jets came out after the main break to try and arrest the slide, lead by Johno & Ryan who were getting involved in all the tight work and Jets first gamer Brent Johnston who showed enough in his debut to suggest a good future lies ahead at Bensons Lane. But without a doubt Warwick "Wokka" Smith was the Jets best performer, his consistent spoiling and repeat efforts were team inspiring and he did not give up until the final siren. Luke Allan also played his best game for the season and his positional play is improving every week but unfortunately too little by too few saw the Students continue to kick away from the Jets who eventually went down by 97 points.
