Last week saw the Jets narrowly missing out on the trifecta. With the U18s having a resounding win, Reserve grade opening their account it was the Seniors who could not quite get over the line to notch up the 3 wins for the day.
The U18s clicked last week against Parramatta and lead at every change to record a 9 goal win. Hard work on the track and continued persistence saw the young Jets notch up their 2nd win with 7 different goal scorers led by Hayden Barlow who kicked 4 majors but also lead the way with his team efforts. Brent Johnston also played well through the middle constantly controlling our forward thrusts.

Reserve Grade notched up their first win of the season with a great team effort over 4 quarters. The home side shot out of the blocks but a late rally in the first quarter saw the Power 3 points behind at quarter time. The 2nd quarter saw Pondy and Lenny give the side a lift across half forward and this allowed for PETER KYLE to start his procession towards 6 goals for the game. The second half saw the Jets kick 9 goals to 3 with Stav and Dougie dominating through the middle while also managing to get themselves on to the goal kickers with Dougie making it 4 for the game.
This week we see Reserve grade off to Gipps rd and after notching their first win the hard work and determination at training is paying off and we will be looking forward the boys singing the song with as much gusto as last week.

The main game saw last weeks winning Jets welcome the 3rd place Camden Cats to Benson’s Lane.
The home side started well and opened up a 14 point lead at quarter time but the loss of Hoff in the 2nd quarter disrupted the Jets and saw them only lead by 3 points at the main break. Bayney and Wokka were fighting hard in the backline but with the Cats dominating the centre clearences our entire back line was under the pump. The scene was set at 3 quarter time with still under a goal the difference between the 2 sides. In a see sawing last qtr with a couple of lead changes the crowd were enjoying a great arm wrestle and Mazey worked hard to get into space to create attack for the Jets but with the clock ticking down the Cats scored a late goal to get the chocolates by 1 straight kick.

We must learn from last week as we head to Syd Uni this week and seek to get our 2nd win of the season. Coming so close last week must put the fire in the belly for the Jets who have good memories of travelling to the city last year.
The U18’s will enjoy the week off with the bye.
