Saturday saw the Jets all over Sydney, but it saw the Seniors notch up their first win, the ressies fight valiantly against UTS and the U18s battle it out at Mac Uni
With never more than 2 goals in it at any of the breaks the Jets U18s fought bravely against Mac Uni away to go down by 10 points. With scores tied at quarter time the Warriors managed to open up a slight gap at halftime. The Warriors only managed to gain a couple of points on their halftime lead at the end of the 3rd and if only for not converting in the last quarter the young Jets could have come away with the win.
Jarred Coull ran hard through the middle of the ground and was rewarded with 2 goals while Jess Cass worked hard off half back repelling the Warriors attacks. Peter Martinolli was also in the best players in his first game for the season, Brent Johnston was the only other multiple goal scorer for the Jets.
The Jets have fought tirelessly in their last 2 games and their next win is just around the corner with continued hard work on the track.

The ressies travelled to Marrickville to kick the dew off Mahony Park in Round 3 action, still searching for their maiden win. The Bats appeared in numbers, be it from the trees or perhaps some local trendy cafes, and the Jets knew they had a huge task on their hands. With a few late withdrawals on Saturday morning, the Bats agreed to play 16 a side, and we thank Brett Wylie and his team for their gracious act of sportsmanship. The Bats then proceeded to use the extra open space to full advantage, hammering the Jets defence with ease. Solid games from Scallan, Oyster and Psycho limited the damage, and a strong debut from Simon Jay, as the Jets only had one goal to half time and faced a 10 goal margin at the long break. The midfield of Spesh, Chasey and Bruiser were doing all they could to curb UTS' influence, and Lenny put in a sterling game across half forward, but UTS added a further 7 in the third to the Jets zero, despite a few glimmers of hope. The boys were set a target against the flying Bats, and added two of their own in the last while holding the home side to 5, with Dougy Linnett producing a typically gutsy effort in his first game back, with his finger popping out twice during the game, and Pirate providing a handy link across the middle. But the damage was done, and the Bats ran out 20 goal winners, 22.14-146 to 3.8-26. Bruiser claimed 2 in the last and Lenny 1, Best Lenny Dougy, Psycho, Oyster, Simon, Pirate. The magoos meet the Power this week, led by former Jet Ox Anderson, and look to break their 2012 duck.

The Seniors ventured down to Monarch oval to play the also winless Auburn in what were good conditions other than a heavy playing surface.
In a tight first quarter the Jets had to work hard and could only manage a 7 point lead at the quarter time break. The backline as a unit were repelling Auburn attacks and really giving us a springboard into attack in the 2nd qtr which saw us kick 5 goals to nil for the quarter to open up a 39point half time lead.
This then allowed our midfield to really assert its dominance in the 3rd with a shared work load and our forwards were enjoying the benefits of this with Berry,Sherwood & Clent presenting well but we only managed to kick 3 goals for the qtr. We went on to kick another 4 goals in the last qtr with Bayne continuing to mark everything that came his way and Smith & Hoffman kept racking up touches. Travers managed to sneak forward to mark on the goal line & convert truly but was out done by Allan who managed to rove his own contest and goal which got the Jets boys excited.
We eventually ran out winners by 78 points with Allan kicking 4 with Grey & Sherwood being the other multiple goal kickers. Coach Ollington was delighted to notch up the Jets first win with such an even performance all over the ground but was particularly happy with the Jets backline who really lead the way.
