Congratulations to former North Shore players Will Sierakowski and Richard Newell on recent announcements with both guys making it onto AFL lists for season 2012.
Both guys have been making headlines for all the right reasons (see attached links), with both leading their respective clubs in time trials. Hopefully with good preseasons under their belts we can watch them make there senior debuts in 2012.
Will played senior grade football for North Shore back in 2008. It was evident for all to see he had some special talent on the field, that was going to take him places, no more evident at Gore Hill when he destroyed UNSW off the half back line. At the end of the 2008 season, Will packed his bags and headed off down to Hawthorn as a rookie through the NSW Scholarship scheme. At the end of the 2011 season, Will was traded from Hawthorn to North Melbourne, where he now finds himself out of the rookie system and onto the Kangaroos primary list.

Richard, who played with North Shore in 2009 & 2010 in the Under 18's, was taken by the Brisbane Lions in the recent Rookie Draft. Richard was a former scholarship holder with the Lions and spent the 2011 season playing for the Lions Reserves in the North Eastern Australian Football League (NEAFL).
