The North Shore Football Club is proud to celebrate our 108-year history, and this year marks the 50th anniversary of a North Shore premiership.
The 1961 side was a star-studded lineup, with some of the best names in Sydney footy at the time. Dominating the season, they ran away with the final series and recorded a 46-point victory over the now-defunct Sydney Naval in the Grand Final. Graeme Parker – (unavailable due to incarceration) - Graeme’s contribution played a major part in us reaching the finals.
Note that in 1961 the Sydney Competition played 16 man sides leaving out the wings in an experiment similar to that tried by the VFA at that time.
