NOR West Jets enjoyed one of their best weekends in four seasons when they scored two wins over local rival Penrith on Saturday.
First grade bounced back to form with a resounding 86-point win at Bensons Lane, while reserve grade came back from a half-time deficit to sneak in by one point.
With results going the Jets' way, it means first grade is still a slim chance to make the finals going into this week's final round.
The seventh-placed Jets are one game off fifth spot and must beat the sixth-placed Southern Sharks at Gwawley Park to be a chance of making the finals for first time.
They must also hope the fifth-placed South-West Sydney lose to fourth-placed Holdroyd-Parramatta.
Spearhead Fraser Thomson booted seven goals on Saturday to all but sow up top spot on the competition goalkicking table.
Reserve grade showed great courage to record its third win of year. The result means the Jets will avoid the wooden spoon - that `honour' going to Penrith.
In a seesawing game, the scores were level at 13-all at quarter time.
The visitors enjoyed a good second quarter, kicking 3.1 to 0.4 to lead by 15 points at half-time.
The Jets closed the gap with 3.3 to 2.1 in third term, to only trail by seven points at three quarter time.
They then kicked three goals straight to 1.4 in the last term to pinch a memorable win.
