NOR-West Jets continued their undefeated run by beating Sydney Uni Blue by 14 points at Bensons Lane on Saturday.
The Jets won the round seven clash 8.9 (57) to 5.13 (43) to move to the top of the ladder for the first time this year.
The previously unbeaten Uni side had never been behind in any of its first six matches, but found itself trailing at every change as the Jets led from start to finish.
The visitors tried hard to lift in the second half, but the Jets' physical presence and hard running through the centre quashed any chance of a Uni victory.
Goals were hard to come by all day for both teams, but the Jets made the most of their entrances into their forward area. The home team's forwards worked hard to lock the ball in and made sure there were limited opportunities for Uni to attack out of defence.
The only lowlight for the Jets was a serious arm injury to first-gamer Josh.
Goal Kickers: Luke Ayling (3), Scott Allen, Pete Brown, Stephen Ferguson, Stephen Burrows and Don Waterson.
Best Players: Andrew Travers, Stephen Ferguson, Don Waterson, Brent Ryan, Gerard Smitts and Stephen Burrows.
