A warm sunday afternoon greeted the Jets as they arrived at Rosedale Oval for their trial game against Moorebank Sports (formerly South-West Sydney).
The Jets bought along about 30 players along for the much-needed run, and took to the field ready to get stuck into it.
The game was played in good spirits although nothing was left out of the attack on the ball for both teams, with some stinging hits letting everyone know that footy was back.
Players to perform well were Nick Milkins, who asserting his influence on the game with some strong attack on the ball, Stephen Davidson and Gerard Smits with plenty of running and delivery, Paul Knight who kicked a few goals and took plenty of strong marks up forward, Adam Micallef, Mitch Billingham and Adam Newton in the middle, Matt Brophy and Evan Dutton with some great defensive work well supported by Jamie Rowe and Aaron Whiles, playing his first game of Aussie Rules.
The Magpies won the 6-term game by a couple of goals, with their 40 plus players proving too much for the undermanned Jets. Coach Richard Potts was happy with the endeavour shown by the boys, with a majority of players having at least 5 quarters of footy.
The Jets travel to Batemans Bay this week for the Sapphire Coast FL Lightning Carnival.
