Official Match Report

With a couple of our senior players not available for the game, it was going to be a tough battle against the local Derby team of Riversdale. Ashburton started well with a number of opportunities and chances presenting themselves. Our forward players were looking hungry. After a goal or two at the other end in the first half the boys were still applauded for their tenacity and abilities to steal the ball and put the other team under pressure. The game was evenly matched in all ways except for the goals. Much focus to be placed on firmness of kicking, decision making and closing of goals will be taken up at training. Well done Riversdale.
