Official Match Report

Good start for Ashburton U12 Joeys for the first game of the season. All the lads played as a team and were well organised. Good communication. A hat-trick to Shawn Zillmann after coming out of the goal keeper position into the mid field second half. A warm welcome to some first time players. Kiran Rajakulendran who showed some great moves and pressure on the opposition in the mid-field. Jay Kasaraneni was tenacious fast and attacking in the mid which made it hard for the opposition. Stand out performances were from James-Perry Ma who maintained control of the ball several times in the front left and showed great fitness with plenty in reserve for the second half. Sammy Gasper with the attitude of The bigger the better equally showed great control and was solid in defence.
Another stand out in terms of endurance and attacking defense was Rupert Vass who just does not let anyone pass without a written invitation sent 4 weeks in advance to a really long address. They just give up and bow to his you shall not pass attitude. A big thank you to U10 player Archie Girling who single handedly stole the ball in the first half and left 2 players flying who were literally double his size. In the end it was a 3 vs 1 victory to Ashburton U12 Joeys. A warm thank you to Middle Park for playing well and wishing you well for the year.
