Official Match Report

Please Note: This match did not proceed beyond the 37 minute & 48 second mark of the first half.....at which time the coach of Maribyrnong Swifts FC (Pablo Valenzuela) entered the ground in order to gain my attention,.....(at which time, I 'stopped' the stopwatch).....Pablo advised me that his team was already one player down due to injury & that he had four players on the park that were injured & could not continue/proceed to play.....I did advise him that he/his team could continue with seven players, nevertheless, he refused, he stated that the safety & wellbeing of his players were paramount & that for this reason he was prepared to forfeit the game.....He also stated that the current scoreline was not the reason for failing to continue to play.....It was the safety & wellbeing of his players that were not as fit as they could be, & were also injured, therefore he was agreeable to forfeit the game at this juncture.
