Official Match Report

The u13’s welcomed undefeated Berwick to JL Murphy. The odds looked stacked against us with only 6 of the squad available. We were extremely grateful for the addition of Anika, Victoria and Hannah from the u11’s and Matilda who stepped in at the last moment to help out too.

Encouraged to go out and give their best and enjoy the game, the girls gave their all from the first whistle. The younger girls may be small in stature but they showed themselves to be big in character, work rate and talent. All 6 of the u13 girls stepped up too, with Beth in particular leading from the back.

The teams went into the break at 0-0, where the girls were asked to keep up the energy and effort levels into the second half. Jeli replaced Chloe in goal with Chloe having performed strongly, sweeping up everything that went beyond our defence.

Into the second half and Parkers continued to hold their own, even showing moments of real quality not least when Olivia sent Chloe away with a fine angled pass. The girls survived a few difficult moments with some great last ditch defending and also composed goalkeeping from Jeli, but they also caused problems at the other end, with the ball not quite breaking our way when we needed it to on a few occasions.

The game ended 0-0 which represented a truly heroic effort from all 10 of the girls today. Massive thanks to coach Sid from the u11’s for the support of your players who did themselves proud, and also huge thanks to Matilda who showed her quality throughout. Finally well done to Beth, Isla, Jeli, Chloe, Lois and Olivia for giving it everything once again today! Go Parkers!
