Official Match Report
A great contest between Ashburton United U12 Green and Riversdale Green U12. Several opportunities for Ashburton and also having a lot of possession. Ashburton were able to brek through defence many times but failed to get shots away when in front of goals. Ashburton showed their best intensity at Batesford Reserve that we have been able to muster. We are still not bringing the same intensity to games as we do at training. But some positive signs of improvement. With the appointment of the new Captain Sam Gasper, the team rallied around Sam and he was a very good communicator and leader on the day. A great goal from Clancy in the second half showed our boys what was possible. Several runs from Maxy Girling braking through defence.was great to see. Another game where the score line did not represent the contest. However, this is becoming quite a common thing to say for this team. Continued focus will be learning how to kick goals under pressure. Welll done Riversdale.
