Attitude of players was disgusting. Continuous heckling and sledging on the pitch. In fact, the sledging continued into the car park. Name calling and taunting has no place in community soccer. As a minimum, at least their coach in fact recognised that the behaviour of both players and parents was unacceptable and offered an apology. The attitude of the parents was equally disgusting so it makes sense that their children have a pathetic attitude toward the game. I had to REMIND the mothers and fathers that it is community soccer and laughing at the players of the opposition team has no place. My message fell on deaf ears. The biggest tragedy in this situation is those children and their parents will continue to wreak havoc not just in our society into the future not just in community sport.
I can comfortably and confidently say that our players lost with dignity however for our opposition all I can say is karma is a difficult lesson to learn. Good luck with that...
