Official Match Report
The u13 girls faced Aspendale at JL Murphy reserve. We were supported by several younger players in Clarissa, Darcie, Lottie, Danielle, Sophie and Vivienne.Parkers went behind in the opening minutes after being caught cold from an Aspendale corner. This spurred the girls into life and Beth brought the team level midway through the half. The teams went to the break at 1-1 after a good recovery by the girls from the early opposition goal.
Into the second half and the girls continued to perform well, with Charlotte particularly strong in defence and a number of the younger players also showing their undoubted potential with composed and impressive football.
Chloe put us ahead, firing home after being released by Danielle for an excellent team goal. Aspendale equalised again, only for Beth to put us 3-2 ahead with what looked to be the winner. Unfortunately Aspendale levelled again in the final seconds to deny the girls what would have been a deserved victory.
A terrific performance from the team today, showing their normal level of character but also playing some of the best football we’ve seen this season, particularly impressive given the number of younger players involved today.
