Official Match Report

A home game for the u13 girls against a familiar opponent in Glen Eira, a team we played 3 close games against last season.

Parkers started well and got the breakthrough through an angled finish into the corner from birthday girl Beth. A solid first half performance, with Immy catching the eye in the defensive midfield position, took us to break 1-0 ahead.

Into the second half and Glen Eira were awarded a penalty, but goalkeeper Jeli stood strong and made the save to preserve the advantage. Unfortunately, the visitors weren’t to be denied and got the equaliser before adding a further goal to take a 2-1 lead.

Parkers pushed for an equaliser, going close from an Olivia free kick and a very late effort from Beth, which a combination of goalkeeper and crossbar managed to keep out. It wasn’t to be though, and the game ended in a 2-1 defeat.

Positives to draw on again with the girls showing plenty of spirit and desire and some good football, but perhaps lacking a bit of energy after the 2 week break.

Thanks again to Lucette and Clarissa for stepping up to the team having played earlier in
the day for the u12’s.

Important now to stay positive, keep working hard in training and believe in ourselves and each other, and the breaks will go our way. Go Parkers!
