Official Match Report
The U13 girls travelled to Dandenong FC on Sunday with numbers again stretched – just 8 players available, and big thanks to Olivia from the U12s for stepping up to give us a full side. The hosts started strongly, making good use of their full bench and fresh legs to score two quick goals. But our girls responded well, competing hard in midfield and pulling one back through Beth midway through the half. Dandenong’s technical front line continued to apply pressure and managed two more before the break, seeing us trail 4–1 at halftime.
Despite having no subs, the girls lifted in the second half. Greer anchored the defence with great positioning and composure, while Chloe produced a string of excellent saves in goal to deny Dandenong further chances. There were moments where Dandenong’s attackers seemed to have the Midas touch, but our defence worked tirelessly to stay in the contest.
Going forward, we created a number of chances, with Olivia capping off a strong performance by scoring our second goal. The final score was 7–2, but the effort and spirit shown throughout couldn’t be faulted.
A big thanks to Andrew who coached solo on the day with both Trond away overseas and Steve unwell. His calm encouragement from the sideline helped keep the team focused and positive.
Huge credit to the girls for their resilience and teamwork under tough conditions, and to Olivia for making the step up from U12s once again. Go Parkers!
