Penrith won its first Senior Grade premiership in 20 years when they defeated Balmain in the Sydney AFL Division 2 Grand Final today. A stunning burst of four goals in as many minutes in the final term when the game was in the balance made the difference - the final margin of 35 points gives little indication of how tight the game had been until then.Unfortunately Reserve Grade, despite being well in the game at the final change after a superb third term, could not go on with it and went down in the Divison 4 Grand Final by 19 points.
With the Grand Final just a drop punt away, both senior teams preparation is almost complete for the "big ones" on Saturday at Blacktown International SportsPark. With the Grand Final Breakfast to be held at 9:00 AM at the red Cow, players, officials and supporters will head to Blacktown on this historic day.

Both of the "IGA" Penrith Rams senior teams are just one win from premiership glory after progressing to the 2011 Grand Finals in their respective divisions.
The two minor premiers headed to Rosedale Park on Saturday with Reserve Grade starting the day with a 44 point win over Macquarie University Warriors and the First Grade side capped off a historic day when they downed Holroyd-Parramatta in a dour 7 point win as the sun set on the South-Western ground.
Both sides now have a week's break going into the Grand Final at Blacktown International Sports Park on Saturday September 10.

Penrith Rams senior teams head to Rosedale Oval at Warwick Farm on Saturday to commence their quest for premiership flags. The dual minor premierships earned by the teams now becomes a noble achievement from the past as they prepare to launch their attack on the "Big Prize".

Penrith Rams Under 18's ended off their 2011 season with a valiant three goal loss to finals side, St Ignatius at Riverview on Saturday. A storming finish saw the young side come home hard on a muddy pitch to just fall short of completing a double against the strong Riverview side
Next Saturday sees the senior teams both head to Rosedale Oval to clash with Holroyd-Parramatta Goanna's (First Grade) and Macquarie Uni (Reserve Grade) in the major semi-final with the winner progressing to the Grand Final.

Penrith Rams Under 18’s head to Riverview on Saturday to play their final match of the 2011 season. It has been somewhat of a “rollercoaster” ride for the team but although missing finals action over the next few weeks, have acquitted themselves very well this season with four wins and a few near misses. With Firsts and Reserves having the weekend off after taking out the club’s first “dual minor premierships” all eyes will be on the 18’s in their final match. The Penrith Rams history books were re-written on Saturday with the club taking out both Senior Grade minor premierships as the 2011 "home and away" season came to a close. The Rams celebrated their thirtieth year of operations as Reserve Grade took out their first ever minor premiership with a 76 point win over Uni NSW Bulldogs at Village Green whilst two hours and sixty kilometres away at Harrington Park, the Firsts completed the unique double with a 99 point win over Camden Cats. It was 20 years since the firsts last took out a minor premiership with a team that included the likes of Michael Walker, David Nolan and Jason Makin.
The Under 18's put up a courageous effort against ladder leaders East Coast at Greygums Oval and play their last game for the year next week against Riverview. Saturday's win ensures the club a top 2 finish in the Club Championships with NEAFL clubs Sydney Uni and East Coast all in line for a top three finish.
The final "home & away" matches for seniors this weekend before the serious stuff begins sees first grade head to Harrington Park to take on bottom placed Camden Cats. Reserve Grade are off to Village Green and hopeful of a win against Uni NSW/ES Bulldogs. A win for both teams will see two minor premierships for the Rams

A great day at the office on Saturday with a clean sweep by the Rams to keep them in the hunt for the Club Championship.
The Under 18's kicked off the day was an outstanding win against St George at Greygums Oval. Meanwhile, Reserves broke the Trumper Park hoodoo and created a club record in winning their 12th game for the year with a 50 point win iver third placed UTS Bats. It was up to Firsts to complete the treble and they did it with ease with a 145 point demolition of St George in their final Greygums appearance.
With the finals less than a month away, Penrith Rams Under 18's and First Grade host St George Dragons in what will be the senior teams final engagement at home for the 2011 season. Under 18's kick off the day at 12:00 PM whilst Firsts take to the field at 2:10 PM.
Reserve Grade travel to Trumper Park at Paddington to clash with UTS Bats in a 12 PM fixture.
Penrith avenged its loss to Sydney Uni earlier in the season with a solid 34 point win at Greygums Oval yesterday.Reserve Grade was well placed at three-quarter time in its top of the table clash against Macquarie Uni, but a goalless final term saw them go down by 9 points.Under 18 Grade were never in the hunt in a disappointing 10 goal loss against UNSW/ES, however did rally in the final term.
After last week's "big wet" forcing the cancellation of games, it's all hands on deck this Saturday with both senior teams playing at Greygums Oval and the Under 18's travelling to Village Green at Uni NSW.
Both Firsts and Reserves will be looking to conquer the only team they haven't beaten at Greygums. Reserves start the day at 12:00 PM against Mac Uni whilst First Grade take on Sydney Uni in the 2:10 PM fixture. Both sides have a perfect record at Greygums this season. The Under 18's are looking to get a winning double over Uni NSW at Village Green, Kensington at 10:00 AM after their win over that side at Dukes Oval earlier in the season.

The Penrith Rams scored the double against long-time foes Nor-West Jets at Bensons Lane today, whilst the Under 18s went down to Western Suburbs in a close game at Picken Oval.
Penrith Rams again hit the road for round 13 with the senior teams heading to Bensons Lane to take on Nor-West Jets whilst the Under 18's are looking for a repeat of their win over Western Suburbs Magpies earlier in the season whe they travel to Picken Oval.
First Grade are looking to stay on top of the ladder and retain the Riff-RAAF Cup against the Jets in what is expected to be a physical encounter against the traditional foes.

Penrith Rams maintained their lead in the 2011 Div 2 competition on Saturday with an 89 point win over Camden Cats at Greygums Oval. The result never looked in doubt as the Rams dominated each quarter as they recorded their tenth win of the season in a tightly packed leaderboard with the fifth team just two wins adrift of the lead.
In the earlier game, an undermanned 18's side fought hard against Pennant Hills Demons, eventually going down by 27 points.
Round 13 sees the Rams back at home in First Grade and Under 18's. The 18's kick off the day at midday when they attempt to avenge their round 1 loss to Pennant Hills whilst Firsts take on Camden Cats in the 2:10 PM fixture.
Reserve Grade are reminded that a training run at Greygums Oval will commence at 10:00 AM and attendance is important.

Penrith Rams surged to the top spot in the competition on Saturday with a comprehensive 60 point victory over ladder leaders, Balmain Dockers at Greygums Oval. The ninth win of the season reversed their earlier heartbreaking loss to the Dockers in round 5 at Drummoyne Oval.
Reserve Grade also registered a clinical 57 point win against third placed UTS Bats that sees them secore in second spot on the Div 4 ladder whilst the Under 18's were unable to match the Illawarra Lions in their early match at North Dalton Park.

Round 12 sees the Under 18's get off to an early start when they take the road trip to Wollongong to take on the Lions in an important match.
Both Senior teams are back at Greygums wher they boast of an unbeaten record this year. The Reserves kick off the day at midday when they face third placed UTS Bats for the first time this year whilst the 2:10 PM match sees first grade looking to topple ladder leaders, Blamain, and take their spot at the top of the table.

Penrith Rams completed the "home and away" double in both senior grades against 2010 nemesis, Moorebank Sports Magpies, at Rosedale on Saturday. First grade completed the double with a hard fought 39 point win against the 2010 Div 3 Premiers whilst Reserves posted their most comprehensive win against the 2010 Div 4 Grand Finalists with a massive 73 point win.
Penrith Rams hit the road again for round 11 with both senior sides heading to Rosedale Oval at Warwick Farm and looking for a repeat of their performances in the round 1 clash.
The Under 18's host Sydney Uni at Cook Park. Junior feeder club, St Clair Crows have been pivotal in organising this fixture which will see the team join in a big day of junior football at the Crows home ground.

After finally grabbing top of the ladder with last week's win against St George, Penrith Rams surrendered it rather meekly when they were easily defeated by a resurgent Holroyd-Parramatta outfit at Henson Park on Saturday.
Reserve Grade however, posted their eight win of the season and could find themselves leading the comp at the end of this weeekend's round with a gritty 50 point victory whilst the Under 18's were no match for competition leader, East Coast at Bruce Purser Reserve.

Penrith Rams took their tally to five straight wins and jumped to the top of the ladder on Saturday when they posted an impressive 88 point win against St George on Saturday. A ten goal opening half againsta sole Dragons goal paved the way for the victory which completed the first half of the season and puts the Rams in good stead for a final berth.
The Under 18's could not complete the double with the side decimated by unavailabilities in going down easily to the Dragons and slipped to 7th on the Premier Cup ladder.

Despite a last minute venue change due to wet weather, Penrith Rams gave plenty of enjoyment to the good crowd of past players on Saturday at Dukes Oval with all teams recording comprehensive wins.
The 18's, after a sluggish start, kicked into gear against a fired up Western Suburbs team to record a 36 point win. Second place Rams Reserves had a struggle in an even first half against traditional rivals, Nor-West Jets before running out 38 point winners whilst First Grade ended the rout with a sensational 97 point demolition of the Jets in front of a wildly enthusiastic crowd. Penrith Rams completed the daily double against Manly Wolves on Saturday when they travelled to Weldon Oval and returned with a rare perfect record. No-one can remember if both senior teams have ever collected the double at the Northern Beaches venue and it was looking a million to one chance at the three -quarter break in reserves with Penrith staging a remarkable comeback to take the spoils.
First grade never looked in danger as they cruised to a 38 point win whilst the Under 18's put up a good effort but went down to heavyweights North Shore at Gore Hill.
Penrith head to northern Sydney this weekend with the 18's taking on North Shore at at Gore Hill at 11 AM whilst the seniors both play Manly Wolves at Weldon Oval, Harbord.

Penrith Rams consolidated their top three spot of the Div 2 ladder on Saturday at Greygums Oval with a comprehensive 29 point win against Auburn Tigers. Auburn kicked the opening two goals of the match in first five minutes of the match but were only able to register another two in the next 80 minutes.
Reserve Grade continued their quest for a flag with a massive 124 point win over the Tigers that sees them hold second spot in the Div 4 competition whilst a slow start by the Under 18's proved costly as they succumbed to Illawarra Tigers by 22 points in the opening game of the day.
Penrith return to Greygums again this week where the Under 18's take on Illawarra Lions whilst both senior teams are pitted against Auburn Tigers.
After last week's clean sweep in all grades, the Rams are looking to retain the perfect record at Greygums Oval in what promises to be another great day of footy.

A stunning return to Greygums Oval for the first real home matches of the season saw Penrith Rams triumph in all three grades on Saturday. After last week's wipeout, The Under 18's led the clubs fortune when they caused a major upset in the Premier Cup to dispose of co-competition leaders, the undefeated Riverview in the opening match. Reserve Grade then consolidated second spot on the Div 4 ladder with a win over fourth placed Holroyd-Parramatta and with the 2010 Under 18's premiership flag billowing on the flagpole, First Grade completed the trifecta by pushing the fourth placed Goannas out of the five with a gutsy 52 point victory. A tough weekend for the Rams was always on the cards with first grade and reserve grade taking on the undefeated ladder leaders, Balmain and Mac Uni whilst the Under 18's had to face the might of 2010 premiers Sydney Uni. Despite the senior teams both leading for much of their games, they were unable to get the points whilst Sydney Uni outclassed Penrith's 18's.
Penrith play all their games away this weekend with the Reserves playing Saturday at Mac Uni whilst on Sunday, the Firsts play Balmain at Drummoyne whilst the 18's play Sydney Uni.
The Rams Under 18s have broken through for their first win of the season (in turn, their inaugural win since being promoted to the Premier Division competition). The boys defeated UNSW/ES 10.9 (69) to 8.6 (55) - congratulations!Reserve Grade followed up with a convincing 91 point win over Manly-Warringah in their Division 4 clash - kicking an inaccurate 15.21 (111) to 3.2 (20).Senior Grade finished off the day in grand style by defeating Manly-Warringah 16.13 (109) to 4.14 (38) in the Division 2 game, making it 2 out of 3 for the First grade and a magic three from three on the day.Match reports on next page
Penrith Rams are lining up for a big weekend with all three grades at Dukes Oval, Emu Plains on Saturday.
At 10:00 AM, The Under 18's will be shooting for their inaugural Premier Cup victory when they take on Uni NSW/ES Bulldogs. The following match at midday sees the "top of the ladder" clash between two of the only unbeaten teams when the Rams clash with Manly Wolves in what is expected to be an outstanding match. The main event at 2:10 PM should be a great match with Penrith looking to return to the winners enclosure against the unbeaten Manly outfit. Last weeks loss to Sydney Uni will be a motivation for the side who face up to the strong Northern Beaches outfit who have disposed of Auburn and Camden in their first two games.

Sydney University maintained their unbeaten status on Saturday when they overcame Penrith Rams in an entertaining match at St Pauls Oval. With a goal or less the difference at each of the first three breaks, it was the Students who finished off the better to run away with the match with a seven goal final quarter in near perfect conditions posting a 16.4-100 score against the Rams 10.5-65.
The Under 18's could not match a white hot North Shore outfit at Sunday at Dukes Oval. The Bombers look the team to beat in this season's Premier Cup with an outstanding display, but the Rams can hold their heads high with their performance.

Penrith Rams commenced the 2011 season with a bang with a 67 point win over last years Div 3 Premiers, Moorebank Sports at Monarch Oval on Saturday. In the early fixture, Penrith turned around a 90 point loss the last time they met 2011 Grand Finalists to record a heart stopping five point win against the Magpies in the Div 4 Match.
The Under 18's can hold their heads very high after their debut Premier Cup clash against powerhouse club, Pennant Hills, after a nervous opening quarter. The young Rams matched it with the Demons for the final three quarters finally going down by thirty three points. Match reports on next page.

On a day marked by intermittent rain, Penrith Rams took on Moorebank Sports in both senior grades and Under 18's at Dukes Oval on Saturday. The 18's recorded their second win in trial matches and Reserves did likewise in a narrow win. In first grade, the two teams met for the first time since the 2010 Grand Final and although now solace for last years Grand Final loss, were able to gain the upper hand and record a win.
