Mark Steunenberg was awarded Life Membership of the Penrith AFC at the club`s recent Presentation Night.
In doing so, he became the 17th person to receive this prestigious honour - the full list of Life Members can be found here.
Mark joined the club in
1996 and finally
hung up the boots in 2007. This year he has
continued his involvement with the club by acting as
club umpire in the many games for which official umpires were unavailable.
He played the majority of his career in Reserve Grade, but mainly in his early days at the club he did also chalk up
23 Senior Grade games. His 157 Reserve Grade games is
second on the all-time list to fellow Life Member Alan Luke.
Of the awards he has deservedly won in his playing career, the
1998 Reserve Grade Best & Fairest award probably stands out as a highlight.
He has also
served on the committee and
helped out considerably in other off-field areas over the years.
Everyone at the club
passes on their congratulations to Mark for receiving the
highest honour a club can bestow on an individual.
A full list of Mark`s achievements at the club can be found
here.
