Welcome to the tenth edition of Ramstats, covering the weird, wonderful and sometimes wacky world of the statistics and history of the Penrith Rams AFC.
This edition covers games played on 14th June:
1. Seniors (Div 1) v UTS - Rd 9
2. Reserves (Div 3) v Sydney Uni - Rd 10
3. Ramettes (Ladies Div 2) v Moorebank - Rd 9
4. Third Grade (Div 5) v North Shore - Rd 10
(Under 18 Grade had the bye this round).
NB (1): Age Grade refers to combined Under 18/19/20 matches.
NB (2): Quarter by quarter and goalkicking records only exist from 1990 onwards.
NB (3): History v Club records can vary markedly in nature due to the fact that, since 2009, many clubs do not play each other on the same level.

SCORING & MARGINS
SCORING
* Senior Grade's score of 6.5 (41) was the 29th 41 point score in the history of the club (9 by 5.11, 20 by 6.5), and the second this season (Under 19 Grade also scored 5.11 41 against Western Suburbs in the opening round of the season). 41 points is the most often kicked score in the history of the Rams - ahead of 37 (25 times) and 36, 38 and 53 (22 times each). The Rams have only ever won once with this score - that honour going to the Ladies, who defeated Auburn by 14 points at Greygums last season. Senior Grade's 8 point loss is not the lowest with a 41 poitn score - the Under 18s lost to Macquarie Uni at Greygums in 2008 by 3 points, and then againt to Southern Power in 2009 at Greygums by 2 points. The 41 point score made its first appearance in Rams history in 1983, by Reserve Grade against Sutherland at Sales Park.
* Reserve Grade's score of 13.3 (81) was the 11th score of 81 points (1 by 13.3, 5 by 12.9, 5 by 12.9) the Rams have kicked. The score was first scored by Reserve Grade against Macquarie Uni at Macquarie Uni in the second game the club ever played. Unfortunately, despite winning on the scoreboard, the Rams lost the match due to having to field unregistered players in its fledgling days. Most recently before this round the score was recorded by Senior Grade against Western Suburbs at Picken Oval in 2012. The 81 point score has overall seen Penrith win 7, lose 3 (including the Macquarie Uni game) and record 1 of its only 3 ever draws - that being against Bankstown at Jensen Oval in 1991 (that game being the closest Senior Grade came to a loss in its unbeaten premiership season).
* The Ramette's score of 8.17 (65) was the 8th instance of this score in the history of the club (1 by 8.17, 2 by 9.11, 5 by 10.5) and the second this season (Senior Grade kicked it in their opening match of the season, losing to Pennant Hills by 2 points). This is only the second time a score of 65 points has won for the club and the Ramettes win is easily the bigger margin of the two - the previous win being when the Under 18s defeated Balmain at Greygums last season by 17 points. Surprisingly, the Rams didn't score 65 points in a match until 2002, when Senior Grade kicked it against Nor-West Jets at Greygums.
WINNING MARGINS
* Reserve Grade's 15 point win was the 10th by the club (2 by Senior Grade, 5 by Reserve Grade, 1 by Third Grade and 2 by Age Grade). The margin first occurred in 1987, when Senior Grade defeated a very strong Liverpool side at Greygums Oval and most recently occurred, prior to this occasion, when Third Grade defeated Blacktown at Blacktown ISP 2 in 2013..Reserve Grade's 13.3 (81) is the second highest Penrith score to record a 15 point win, only beaten by Senior Grade's 13.20 (98) in the 1987 match mentioned above.
* The Ramettes' 56 point win was only the 2nd win by that margin in the club's history. The only other time it occured was nearly 31 years ago, in 1983, when Senior Grade 17.13 (115) defeated Baulkham Hills 9.5 (59) at Sales Park.
VENUES
* Three more games at Greygums took Penrith's record there to 220 wins, 257 losses, 2 draws and 9 abandoned - a total of 488 games. In addition, the Rams have won a further 34 games scheduled at Greygums by forfeit. Following on from Senior, Reserve and Third Grade's highest score at Greygums, Age Grade's highest score there is 27.19 (181) against Nor-West Jets in 2002.
* The Rams were scheduled to play at Gore Hill Oval. Our playing record there isn't the best, with 1 win only and 5 (all substantial) losses. In addition, the Rams have lost one game scheduled there via forfeit and have now also won a game scheduled there via forfeit. The history at Gore Hill goes back to 1996, when the Under 18s represented Penrith there for the first time.
TEAMS
SENIOR GRADE
* Senior Grade entered its 13th season against UTS, the two clubs having first competed against each other in 2001;.
* The record between the two clubs stands at Penrith 4 wins, UTS 19 wins.
* 7.7 (49) is UTS's lowest score to defeat the Rams Senior Grade.
RESERVE GRADE
* Reserve Grade entered its 22nd season against Sydney Uni, the clubs having first played in 1981 (the Rams' inaugural year);.
* After a somewhat rare win for the Rams, the record between the two clubs stands at Penrith 8 wins, Sydney Uni 33 wins.
* Reserve Grade achieved its 200th win in competition football in this match.
THIRD GRADE
* Third Grade was due to play its second game against North Shore this season (the first season between the two clubs in this grade).
* After North Shore's forfeit, the record between the two clubs stands at Penrith 2 wins to nil.
* With 8 wins in the season, Third Grade has equalled its second best home and away season in 2003.
RAMETTES
* The Ramettes played Moorebank for the second time this season, the first season between the two clubs.
* This was the Ramettes second win against Moorebank - that also being the record between the two clubs.
* The Ramettes and Moorebank each scored their lowest scores against each other in this game.
* The Ramettes have now scored 554 points this season - their highest in a home and away season (beating their 541 in 2013).
* The Ramettes scored their best second (2.8 20) and fourth (2.2 14) quarters against Moorebank.
* The girls scored their equal most behinds in a quarter (8 - in the second quarter) - which they also scored in their previous game against Moorebank (3.8 in the first quarter).
* The Ramettes kicked their equal most behinds in a match - 17 (which they also scored against UNSW/ES earlier in the season).
GENERAL
* North Shore's' forfeit against Third Grade was the 55th time a club has forfeited against the Rams, as follows:
Senior Grade - 8
Reserve Grade - 20
Third Grade - 3
Age Grade - 24
* On the other hand, the Rams have forfeited 16 games. For a club which has punched considerably above its weight for much of its existence, this is a remarkably low number.
GENERAL
* Reserve Grade kicked the highest ever final score for the Rams with three behinds - 13.3 (81). The previous best was 12.3 (75), achieved twice - by Senior Grade in 1997 (losing to S-W Sydney) and by Under 18 Grade in 1998 (defeating St George).
