At the AGM held in November, the board was elected.
Greg Corless - Chairman
David Nolan - Director Youth/Womens
Jennifer Brown - Director Planning and Development
John Rix - Director Football Operations
Clint Priest - Director Administration and Finance.
Both John and Clint are new additions to the board. John continues his role as Div 3 coach after taking that team to a 2014 Grand Final. Clint "joins" the club after being an avid supporter of the Rams and junior clubs over the last few years. He is currently the General Manager/Chief Financial Officer for the Safewerx Group.
The club would like to pay a huge thanks to retiring board members Michael Walker (Chairman) and Michael Haynes (Dir Admin and Finance), who are both Life Members of the Rams, for their fantastic service to the club over many years and both have offered their continued support in the future.
2015 Penrith AFC COACHES
First Grade (Division 2) - Barry Denton
Reserve Grade (Division 3) - John Rix
Third Grade (Division 5) - TBA
Ramettes (Division 2) - Jason Bradley
Under 19's (Division 2) - Anthony Hyland
Coaching Manager - Kevin Kirk
Head coach Barry Denton returns to coach the first after what could be described as a difficult 2014 season, marred by long term injuries and unavailabilities during the year.
In fact, 62 players sported the first grade teal last year with only three (Luke Jones, Josh Shephard and Josh Anasis) playing in all the games. However, 2015 promises to be an exciting year with some very talented recruits joining the club.
John Rix again coaches the reserve Grade 2014 Grand Finalists with high hopes of hoisting a flag come September. John has also taken on a board position as Director of Football Operations.
Coaches for Thirds are expected to be named shortly.
Jason Bradley again coaches last years preliminary finalists, the ladies team and with both grand finalists from last year being promoted, an inaugural flag is on offer for the Ramettes.
Anthony Hyland has taken over the Under 19’s coaching role from the successful Rick Allen who fell one win short of a grand final berth last year. Anthony has previously coached premiership sides for the Blue Mountains Kangaroos.
Leading Div 5 goalkicker last year and the third grade coach, the mercurial Kevin Kirk, will be overseeing all teams in his position as Coach Manager and his wealth of knowledge in the game promises to be a huge benefit to the club.
With the Rams being the biggest club in the West (And third largest in the Sydney AFL) we need a massive amount of support staff. Please encourage involvement from family, friends, supporters for the many positions required. These include Club Umpires, Assistant coaches, trainers, runners, scoreboard attendants, canteen assistants, strappers etc. We have on occasions five different teams playing on the same day at five different venues, so the more help, the more success we bring to all.
