Team to supply 1 x goal umpire. There are two appointed umpires and Power to supply 2 x boundary umps and 1 x goal ump
A tough schedule for round 2 of the BLK AFL Sydney competition with four teams heading North to Cherrybrook, South to Taren Point and East to Malabar proved no issue for the Rams as they came away with 100% record on Saturday. First Grade were impressive in defeating 2014 Division Three premiers Randwick Saints at Pioneers Park with a ten goal win. Both Reserve and Third grade took their record to 2-0 with wins over the previously undefeated Pennant Hills Demons at Mike Kenny Oval whilst the Under 19’s scored their inaugural 2015 victory, defeating Southern Power in a tight match at Gwawley Park.
This weekend sees a big five away games with First Grade heading down the Northern Road to Fairfax Reserve to play a very strong Camden outfit. The Cats and Rams will join together with the umpires and match officials prior to the match to honour and pay respects to our defence forces with the 100th anniversary of Anzac Day. The ceremony will include the Ode, A minute silence, Reveille and finish off with the National Anthem. Penrith would like to thank Camden Cats for organising this event.
In the other Saturday games, the Under 19’s take on Campbelltown Blues at Monarch Oval in what should be a close battle whilst the Ramettes begin their season at BISP where they take on Blacktown Magic, who from all reports, will be fielding a strong team and are confident of registering their maiden win and expecting to go deep into finals in their inaugural year.
On Sunday, Reserves and Thirds head out to Bensons Lane in the local derby clash with Nor-West, where Penrith clash with the Jets First and Reserve grade sides. The matches are usually torrid affairs and this Sunday should prove to be no different.
All players, support staff, families and friends are invited to head to O’Donoghues Irish Pub at Emu Plains on Saturday and Sunday night for a few drinks and a guaranteed great meal.
