On Wednesday night we were approached by another football club and asked to consider a merger of our clubs which would see us elevated to Premier Division in 2016.
This is not a decision that the committee will be making. This decision will be made by you, the members.
On Tuesday night we will be meeting after training in the club rooms at Rosedale. At the meeting we have requested a representative from the proposing club to detail how the see the venture working.
Key points will include their finances, playing list, sponsorship levels, where they see the venture based for both games and training as well as a potential name.
There will also be representatives from Sydney AFL to observe and provide additional information and answer questions from our members.
We request that if you feel you want a say in the direction of our club you make yourself available.
The executive committee will only be presenting the details in a facts and figures manner and will leave the emotion in the decision to yourselves.
As a football club we have worked tirelessly since 2007 to build up our playing list and develop a strong culture and finances. As such it must be clear that we were not looking to merge with anyone and the approach is 100% from the other entity. As a football club the executive couldnt be happier with hour we presently operate but also acknowledge this is a decision for you the members.
