Welcome to the fourth edition of Ramstats, covering the weird, wonderful and sometimes even wacky world of the Rams statistics and history.
This edition covers games played on 26th April:
1. Ramettes (Women Div 2) v UTS - Rd 3
2. Under 19s (Div 2) v Mac Uni - Rd 3
3. Thirds (Div 5) v Nor-West Jets - Rd 4
4. Reserves (Div 3) v Mac Uni - Rd 4
5. Seniors (Div 1) v Mac Uni - Rd 4
NB (1): Age Grade refers to combined Under 18/19/20 matches.
NB (2): Quarter by quarter and goalkicking records only exist from 1990 onwards.
NB (3): History v Club records can vary markedly in nature due to the fact that many clubs do not play each other on the same level.

SCORING & MARGINS
SCORING
* Senior Grade's score of 8.6 (54) was the 13th 54 point score in the history of the club (2 by 7.12, 11 by 8.6). The last time the club kicked this score was in 2013 by Under 18 Grade against Manly-Warringah at Greygumas Oval. Its first instance was way back in 1983, by Senior Grade against Liverpool at Sales Park. The club has only ever won once with this score (by Senior Grade against Blacktown - the first incarnation - at Whalan Reserve in 1986). Senior Grade's loss by 13 points is the club's lowest loss with a score of 54 points.
* Reserve Grade's score of 19.12 (126) was the 6th 126 point score in the history of the club (4 by 18.18, 2 by 19.12). Its last instance was by Reserve Grade against Southern Power in 2012 at Greygums Oval. Its first instance was in 1989 by the Metro Colts Under 20s against Camden at an unknown venue (see footnote in "General"). The Rams have never lost with this score, in fact the highest score the Rams have kicked to lose a game is 18.7 (115) (see further footnote in "General").
* Third Grade's score of 11.5 (71) was the fifteenth 71 point score in the history of the club (7 by 10.11, 8 by 11.5). Senior Grade first kicked the score in 1983, against Uni of NSW at Sales Park, and Reserve Grade kicked the most recent instance against Balmain at Mahoney Park earlier this season (which was only the second time 71 points has recorded a win for the Rams).
* The Under 19s kicked the 9th score of 59 points by Penrith (6 by 8.11, 3 by 9.5). This is only the second time this score has won for the Rams, the other time also being by an Age Grade side (the 2000 Under 18s vs UNSW/ES at the Village Green). The 59 score first occurred in 1993, in a game the Rams would rather forget (when Senior Grade lost the Grand Final to Hawkesbury at Whalan Reserve). The most recent occasion was in 2010, when Senior Grade lost to UTS at Trumper Park.
* The Ramettes recorded the club's 22nd 53 point score (12 by 7.11, 10 by 8.5), which is the equal third most common score kicked by the Rams (behind 41 and 37 and equal with 36 and 38). The girls' win is the fifth, and their winning margin the highest, with this score. It first occurred in 1983, by Reserve Grade against Manly (at Weldon Oval), and most recently was scored by the Under 18s in their last game of the 2013 season against Balmain at Henson Park.
MARGINS
* Reserve Grade's 59 point win was the 5th by the club (2 by Senior Grade, 2 by Reserve Grade and 1 by Age Grade). The margin first occurred in 1981, when Reserve Grade defeated Campbelltown at Erskineville Oval in the First Semi-Final, and had not occurred - until now - since 2001 when the Under 18s defeated Manly at Weldon Oval.
* Under 19 Grade's 13 point win is only the 5th ever win by that margin by the club (1 by Senior Grade, 2 by Reserve Grade, 1 by Third Grade and 1 by Age Grade). It first occurred in the 1993 Senior Grade Second Semi-Final, when the Rams defeated Hawkesbury at Whalan Reserve, and most recently occurred when Reserve Grade defeated Sydney Uni at Greygums in 2010.
* The Ramettes recorded only the club's fourth ever 21 point win (2 by Senior Grade, 1 by 3rd Grade, 1 by Ramettes). It took 20 years for the first 21 point win to come around (in 2001 when Senior Grade defeated Manly at Gregygums Oval - yes, the Manly that is now in Premier Division) and most recently occurred last season when Senior Grade defeated Macquarie Uni at Macquarie Uni. Somewhat surprisingly, the Rams have kicked one lower score than the Ramettes' 7.11 (53) to win by 21 points - Third Grade's 7.7 (49) to defeat UNSW/ES at Greygums in 2012.
VENUES
* The Rams have now played 58 games at Bensons Lane, after first playing there in 1989. Our record there is 32 wins and 26 losses, with a further 4 games abandoned. In addition, the Rams have won another 3 games by forfeit which were scheduled to be played at Bensons Lane. Penrith's highest score there is the Under 18s' 31.20 (206) in 2001. In fact the top four scores there have been kicked by Age Grade teams - 31.20 (206), 24.16 (160), 23.7 (145) and 19.26 (140). Senior Grade's best score at the venue is 20.18 (138) in 1995.
* Penrith has now played five games at the Macquarie Uni Northern Oval, after first playing there in 2010. Senior Grade's loss was the club's first in those five games, while Reserve Grade holds the highest score at the venue - 19.17 (131) in 2013.
* The Ramettes played Penrith's 24th game at Trumper Park. The club's record there stands at 9 wins and 15 losses. In addition, there has been one win and three losses by forfeit at Trumper. Penrith's highest score there is the Under 18s' magical 20.2 (122) in 1998 (see Ramstats edition 2).
TEAMS
SENIOR GRADE
* This is the Rams' 24th season against Macquarie Uni, starting way back in 1983..The club has only played more seasons against Hawkesbury/Nor-West Jets (26).
* This is the first time that Senior Grade has played Macquarie Uni on their Northern Oval.
* This loss breaks a winning streak of three games (Senior Grade's equal best) against Macquarie Uni.
* Senior Grade's record against Macquarie Uni now stands at 11 wins and 33 losses.
* Senior Grade lost its first four games of the season for the first time since 2007.
RESERVE GRADE
* This is Reserve Grade's 26th season against Macquarie Uni, the most it has played against any club. The two clubs first met in Round 2, 1981 - the Rams' second ever competition match.
* Reserve Grade's record against Mac Uni stands at 19 wins and 33 losses.
* Reserve Grade has now won six games on the trot, commencing 27th August 2011, against Macquarie Uni - which beats the previous best winning sequence of five games.
* The last five games Reserve Grade has played against Macquarie Uni they have kicked more than 100 points - 147, 120, 131, 156 & 126.
* Reserve Grade has won its first four games of the season for the first time since 1982.
* Macquarie Uni is the club that Reserve Grade has kicked the most points against - 3431. They have kicked 3000 points against only one other club (Nor-West Jets).
THIRD GRADE
* Third Grade played Nor-West Jets for the first time, the Jets being the fourteenth club Third Grade has competed against.
* The Rams have now competed against the Jets in all four male grades.
UNDER 19s
* This is the 6th season that the club has competed against Macquarie Uni (commencing 2007), the record now standing at Penrith 6 wins and 7 losses.
* Penrith has competed against Macquarie Uni in all five grades.
* The five point win was Penrith's narrowest against Macquarie Uni and its first since 24th July, 2010.
* The win broke a losing sequence of three games against Macquarie Uni
RAMETTES
* The Ramettes have won their first three games of the season for the first time and have won three games in a row for only the second time (after defeating Auburn, Southern Power and Auburn - again - in successive weeks in 2013).
* This is the Ramettes third season against UTS. The record between the clubs now stands at Ramettes 4, UTS 3.
* The Rams have competed against UTS in four grades - Seniors, Reserves, Thirds and Ladies.
* It has taken until this meeting - the seventh between the clubs - for the Rams to play UTS at Trumper Park.
* This was the Ramettes' second win against UTS in a row - equalling its best ever winning sequence against the club.
RELATIONS
* And another addition to the siblings club at Penrith! Luke Hyland made his debut for Under 19 Grade, joining his brother Jesse at the Rams.
GENERAL
* The Rams passed 92000 points in competition football in this round of matches.
* Congratulations to the Ramettes on recording Penrith's 600th win in all grades of football. The girls jusit pipped the Under 19s for the honour by virtue of the fact that their game started half an hour earlier. The total now sits at 602 wins, as follows:
547 "on-field" wins, 53 wins by forfeit and two by protest.
* Following on from Dylan Nelson's effort earlier in the season, Justin Eckford joined the "three games in one day aka Superman" club by playing in the 19s and then backing up in the Reserves and Seniors. Well done Justin!
* There are 16 matches where the Rams have played (or were due to have played) where the venue is unknown - 7 played (3 wins, 4 losses) and 9 abandoned. All these matches are from the "great wet" 1989 season, where rain played havoc with Sydney football, resulting in abandoned/moved/rescheduled matches galore. As a result, the club records and the Sydney AFL Football Record are deficient in a number of venues.
* The highest score the Rams have kicked to lose a game is Senior Grade's 18.7 (115) against Uni of NSW at the Village Green in 1994. Uni kicked 21.14 (140) to win by 25 points. In fact, on the 269 occasions the Rams have kicked 100 points or more in a match, the club has only lost on two other occasions, those being:
1. Also by Senior Grade in 1994, the Rams lost the Elimination Final at Wagener Oval to Wollongong by 1 point: 15.21 (111) to Wollongong's 17.10 (112). The match was actually a draw at full-time (14.20 to 16.8) with the Rams losing in extra time.
2. Senior Grade lost to Bargo at Bargo Showground in 1992, 15.15 (105) to 18.13 (121).
* The highest score kicked against Penrith to lose a game is Bankstown's 22.13 (145) against Senior Grade at Kelso Park, again in 1994. The Rams kicked 25.15 (165) to win by 20 points. In total the Rams have won on six occasions when the opposition has kicked 100 points or more.
