This Saturday the 9th of August at Rosedale Oval we will be holding our annual Past Players and Officials day for all current and former members of South West Sydney (Moorebank), Bankstown, Liverpool and Southern Districts.
Attached is a couple photos of the jumpers that will be worn on the day. Each jumper details the life members and premierships won on the front, whilst the back of the jumper lists the name of every player and coach to have been involved in the club since the 1996 merger between Bankstown and Liverpool. At the end of the day the jumpers will be available to purchase by auction with all proceeds raised used to begin restoration of the clubs honour boards, replacement premiership flags and trophies and old photographs and general history.
The day also marks the 20th anniversary of the Liverpool reserve grade premiership over Manly in 1994 and the 25th anniversary of the Liverpool under 20’s premiership over Cronulla Sutherland (Southern Power).
There will be a jumping castle, face painting and coloured hairspray on the day to keep the kids occupied as well as a DJ.
Reserves play Manly at 11am and will be wearing the Southern Districts/Liverpool Jumper. (blue and white)
Third grade play Camden at 1pm and will be wearing the Bankstown jumper. (green and gold)
First grade play Camden at 3pm and will be wearing the South West Sydney jumper (black and white)
Under 19’s play Penrith at 5.30pm and will be wearing the current strip (black gold and white) with the names incorporated into it as well.
David Mcleod will captain the thirds on the day as it will be his 300th game for the club since the 1996 merger. If we had the records available prior to 1996 we suspect Dave would be nudging closer to 450 games.
We have a number of people flying in from the day from interstate including for presidents Cowboy and Granger as well as the premiership coach of the 1989 and 1994 teams John Humphries.
Hope to see you all there on the day.
