A highly successful second season for the Penrith Ramettes ended on Sunday with a loss to the Southern Power.
Match report:
In the Preliminary Final against Southern Power the girls battled hard all day but went down to a more skilled unit on the day. The effects of such a hard fought win the previous weekend took it's toll on a number of players and it showed after half time when Southern Power made their move in what's commonly called "the Premiership Quarter". Up until that time though the Ramettes were well within grasp of forcing another tight game and possible unlikely win against the more fancied Southern Power team. The one thing that stood out, as it had done for the entire season, was that at no stage whatsoever did a single girl give up. Every single player kept going until the final siren. Not only were the coaching group very proud of the team, but the entire club were as it should be remembered that they were in only their second year of existence and were coming off a winless year the previous year. For the amount of improvement produced the skies the limit for this group of exceptional ladies.
