The weekend commenced at Greygums Oval with the Rams Under 18's taking on Macquarie University in the 10 AM clash. The severely undermanned colts put in a great display despite going down to the Warriors as coach Rick Allen reports:
Simply an exceptional effort from our boys on Saturday. We started the game with 18 players’ vs. their 20, and with Tarron Berry going down in the first quarter with a shoulder, played most of the game 17 v 20. With 11 players unavailable this week it was an incredibly brave performance with the Rams winning more of the contested ball but not being able to overcome their outside run with the extra number.
Chris Nolan was adjudged our best player after a solid performance that was full of class and aggression. Justin Eckford in his first game back was second best and showed great leadership and courage to come back on after copping an elbow to the mouth, (found out later he had to have 7 stitches). Aidan Quicke, Liam Veigel, and our two make shift ruck man for the day Kayne Quirk and St Clair Crows U16 Ethan Claxton also led the way in what was a very consistent team performance with every player doing themselves proud. A special mention must go to St Clair Crows U16 player Jared Ryan who battled hard in his second game for the Rams, showing great improvement since his first outing, laying a number of tackles and getting plenty of the footy. A big thank-you to ST Clair for helping us out once again.
Jarrod Durham kicked a great goal on the goal line after a show of body on body strength against his opponent to take a great mark and then play on. Jack Wagner playing his best game for the season booted our second goal and Captain Anthony Leech moved forward from full back to be our third goal scorer.
This was the best performance of the season so far, well done to every player who took part, from a very proud coach.
Final Scores: Maq Uni: 9 . 15 - 69 to Rams 3 . 6 – 24
Goals: Durham, Wagner, Leech
Best: Nolan, Eckford, Quicke, Claxton, Veigel, Quirk

After stringing together five consecutive wins, Third Grade took the short trip down Northern Rd to take on ladder leaders, Camden. The Cats took a big lead early and were never threatened in recording a big victory. The loss, however, keeps them in fifth spot on the ladder but they will need to bounce back against Sydney Uni in next Saturday's away match. Best for Penrith were Shane "Hollywood" Scott, "Slammin" Sam Lockhart and Alex Hocking whilst Dane "Lizard" Fysh topped the goalscorers list with a double.

Tha Ramettes were looking to consolidate their spot in the top four when they took on Randwick Angels at Pioneers Park, their third match there this year. The game was never out of their control against a very talented Angels outfit who had won their first ever game the week before. Despite the loss of a few key players, the team established a good lead in the opening term before strangling the attack of the Randwick side in the second half, who had a strong breeze at their back. The match was marred by a potential serious injury to young Jasmine Payne, who was taken to hospital by Ambulance after a heavy knock in the final minutes. Jasmine spent the next three nights in hospital but has been cleared of any serious injury. Justine Vella was oustanding for the Ramettes along with captains Jen Brown and "Cup" Kate Easthope whilst Jasmine Payne, Nat Camilleri and Eve Pamer all put in strongperformances. Jen Brown and Lauren Hazell both scored doubles. The task next Saturday gets harder as they take on Mac Uni in a twiight game at University Oval.

Best Players: J. Vella, J. Brown, K. Easthope, N. Camilleri, J. Payne, E. Pamer
Reserve grade headed to what many considered a "home" match, just down the road from Long Bay Jail at Malabar. In what turned out to be a spiteful match, Randwick ran away with the game in the second hald after a physical first half. The loss has severely dented their finals hopes and they would almost need to win every match from here to hope to figure in September football. Michael Brown continued his great form this year with an outstanding display whilst Under 18, Joey Eskander, made the dash from an earlier game at Greygums to make a great senior debut along with Nic Collimore who fought hard all day. The team travels to Gosford next Saturday in a 2012 grand final replay against Gosford.
Goal Kickers: D. Bradley , A. Quicke , J. Shelley , N. Collimore , C. Butler , C. Triffitt
Best Players: M. Brown, J. Eskander, N. Collimore, D. Bradley, B. Redfern, N. Rowley
On Sunday, First Grade headed to Gore Hill to take on North Shore, who had beaten the Rams at Greygums by two points earlier this season. The Rams looked lethargic early in the match with basic skill errors letting them down, but were still able to take a 35 point lead by the long break, with Jay Edwards game ending early with a trip to the ajoining hospital with a badly dislocated finger. The second ghalf saw a lot more polish by the team on a slippery track, running away to record a 69 point victory. With some surprise upsets in other matches, Penrith now find themselves in third spot and will be looking to hold that position in next weeks clash with St George at Olds Park. The loss of Pat Pope for the game saw a capable replacement bought into the side. Four time Michael Walker Medallist, Dale Chivas, made a trip to Sydney after completing his training for the Australian Defence Forces and showed he had not lost any of his masterful skills, booting four goals and handing off another couple. It is hoped he Dale can make a couple of more trips to Sydney from his Pukapunyal base this season. Josh Shephard again showed his absolute class with a great display on the ball, with Nathan Wright and Tim Cummins putting in their usual talented efforts along with Michael Denton and former Gore Hill resident, Lachlan Smith who keeps his unbeaten record at the ground intact. Along with Dale's four goals, Smith and Michael Denton added three apiece whilst Shephard added two of his own.
Goal Kickers: D. Chivas 4, L. Smith 3, M. Denton 3, J. Shephard 2, B. McGovern , B. Robinson , T. Cummins , T. McNamara
Best Players: J. Shephard, D. Chivas, N. Wright, T. Cummins, M. Denton, L. Smith
