Congratulations to Luke Donoghue, who will play his 200th game for Penrith this weekend.
In doing so, he will become only the 12th Ram to join the exclusive "200 Club".*
Luke joined the Rams in 1996 when he played with the club's inaugural Under 18s side coached by Joe Bradley.
When the Rams did not field an 18s side the following season, Luke transferred to the Baulkham Hills club, where he tasted flag success.
The Rams 18s side was on the park again in 1998, and Luke was back. And here he stayed, until moving out of the area several years ago with work.
Returning to Penrith last year, he was back on the field for the Rams, in his familiar no-nonsense, straight ahead playing style.
101 of Luke's games have been played in Senior Grade (one of only 17 players to have achieved this particular feat), where he always proved to be a reliable and durable defender.
Luke has been a very solid performer and clubman over a long period for Penrith, including many years when it was a battle on the field for the club and its players.
Well done Luke from everyone at the Rams.
*The other 200 gamers being Jason Ware, Michael Walker, Jason Bradley, Robert Watkins, Jason Makin, Geoff Eldering, Stuart Ayres, Brad Fishburn, Alan Luke, Daniel Barnes & David Cummings.
