Weather played havoc with the weekend's matches, with four of the five games being transferred. The transfers suited the Rams nicely, with the Village Green Div 5 game being transferred to Monarch Oval and the three games scheduled for Gore Hill Oval (Under 18s, Div 4 and Div 1) being moved to Blacktown International Sports Park No 2 oval.
Div 5
With the match transferred from the Village Green (small) to Monarch Oval (monstrous), the fitness of the players from both sides was going to be tested. The Weller family (Adam, Chris, Justin and Syd) created a club record by being the first time four members of the one side playing in the one side.
In muddy conditions, UNSW/ES got the start, but were assisted by the Rams' woeful kicking for goal. The side had 11 behinds on the board before notching their first major in the third term. Penrith got to within striking distance by kicking two goals in the last quarter, but UNSW/ES got a late major to seal the game.
It was a spirited and determined performance by the entire side. The Rams were very happy to welcome back Luke Donoghue, who had been away from the club for a couple of seasons.

Under 18s
The Under 18s took on powerhouse North Shore at Blacktown International Sports Park No 2 Oval, in the match transferred from Gore Hill Oval. The side was blitzed by a nine goal opening term and from there never recovered.
However, in their usual fashion, the young Rams never gave up and the second half saw them peform their share of attacking forays, with two goals the result, to Brad Camilleri and Billy Nicholson.
Martin Pope made a good debut, joining his brother in the side, by being named in the best players.

Div 4
Div 4, also playing at BISP No 2, were taken aback when North Shore kicked the opening four goals of the game. However, the side steadied and by quarter time had regained their compusure to have drawn level.
The Rams established their superiority in the second term and from thereon were not challenged by the Bombers, who could manage only another two goals for the match. In the end it was a comfortable 77 point win for Penrith.
Jake Sultana up forward had a good game in the wet conditions with five goals, while Mark Jackson and Tayt Corless kicked four earch. The warrior Christian Triffitt was named best, with Nathan Rowley backing him up with a great game.

Div 1
A very winnable game for Senior Grade, played in continuing wet conditions at Blacktown ISP No 2 which made scoring very difficult. It was the first time that the club played at this ground since its construction.
The Rams opened the game the better, scoring 3 goals to 1 in the first term. North Shore evened the ledger by half-time, looking the better side and having drawn the game level. It was anyone's game from therein.
The game was a continual rebounding affair between the half-back lines, with neither side able to score goals nor obtain any ascendancy. The Rams scored the only goal of the third term to lead by that margin going into the final quarter.
Unfortunately, it was North Shore who stood up in the final term, despite the Rams best efforts. A single goal separated the sides at the final siren, not the first close loss for Penrith this season.
The game was marred by a serious injury to Dale Chivas, who was taken to hospital with concussion. His loss hampered the Rams' efforts to win the match.

Ramettes
The Ramettes made the trip to windy Wollongong, who had been showing good form of late.
The girls showed their usual grit and determination, but were no match for their more experienced opponents.
They emphasised their doggedness by defending well and not allowing the Gong girls to match their five goal opening term for the rest of the match.
