Another big round for the Rams with five teams competing against four clubs at two different venues for Round 5 of the Sydney AFL competition.
The day commences at 10:00 AM at Greygums Oval where the Ramettes Ladies Team take on the well performed might of the Western Wolves. The first year Ramettes are improving rapidly week by week and it would be foolish for any opponents to take them lightly. The Wolves have a 2-2 record. Following a first round 37 point loss to Newtown, they rebounded quickly with a good win against Mac Uni and followed it up with a 150 point victory over UTS Shamrocks. Last week they were competitive against Sydney Uni in their 27 point loss. The Ramettes have shown great attitude this year and despite being at the wrong end of the scorebaord so far, have kept going for the full 80 minutes in their games. The side trained well mid-week and kept the physio busy, hopefully recovering from last week's tough encounter against the Warriors.

The following midday game pits the Under 18's against last years premiers, Riverview. The young Rams caused headaches last season for the well drilled schoolboys with a win at Greygums and a close loss away. Injuries have been the Penrith sides big enemy this season but a forward display is expected. Riverview are coming off last week's bye. Prior to that, they fell by about two goals to both Sydney Uni and Hills Eagles after a good round 2 win against Western Suburbs.

The main event at Greygums looks to be a thriller with Penrith hanging onto fifth spot and need to bounce back against third placed UTS to keep their spot in the top half of the ladder. Penrith's loss to premiership frontrunner, Manly showed a deceptive scoreboard with the Wolves running away in the final quarter. The Bats have an impressive resume, winning their first four games before falling by 34 to Mac Uni last week. Their 4 wins have been from teams outside the top five but will be looking to bounce back against the Rams this week. Penrith's two wins have also been against teams in the second half of the ladder and will need to put their best feet forward this week to prove they are genuine finals contenders.

Third grade travel to Gipps Road to play Holroyd-Parramatta with both teams looking for their first win of the season. The Goannas were competitive in their first round loss to Mac Uni but have been at the end of some big losses in their four games since. The Rams have shown good signs despite their ladder position against good sides and hopefully will open their account in the 10:30 AM fixture.

Reserve grade bounced back to form last Saturday with a big win against Manly, which followed two consecutive losses. A bright start again is required when the team faces the Goanna's in the 12:30 PM match. The home side showed some glimpses of form in their 30 point loss to Nor-West last week and will be fired up for the "Western Derby" with the Rams. It's certainly not a game to be taken lightly, with the team needeing another win to keep their fourth spot secure.
