The Rams have wasted no time in their quest for further success in 2010 with the announcement of the 2011 coaching panel. Level 2 coach Geoff Payne has been appointed head coach of first grade with Craig Sharp as assistant. Both were pivitol in the success of the Under 18's this year.
Rob Murie takes over the reins of the Under 18's squad along with assistants David Nolan and Michael Walker with all three having level two accreditation as the team hopefully secures a spot in the Premier Cup Competition. Rob heads the Hills Sports High AFL programme and has held various coaching roles with the PSSA and Pioneers programme and is a former Rams player whilst Rams Life Members Dave Nolan and Michael Walker have both coached teams in the junior Western Sydney competition.
Chairman Kevin Tate has stepped down from the head coaching role after getting the team to a Grand Final in 2010 to concentrate more on running the club. However, he takes on the role of Reserve Grade Head Coach and will be assisted by players Mark Jackson, Nathan White and Michael Bottrill.
Managers have also been appointed with current First Grade whiz, Barry King-Smith continuing his role. Scott Duffus will be taking over the role of Reserve Grade manager whilst Rob Swarbrick will continue as the Under 18's manager.
Penrith are currently seeking a fitness and conditioning coach for the pre-season due to commence in November and are looking for trainers, runners and other support staff in the coming months.
Congratulations to all those involved in the 2010 season, indeed a great stepping stone to the future of the club, as we look forward to "upping the ante" in 2011 and beyond.
