RAMS TO RISE AGAIN IN TWENTY TEN
Tomorrow will see the culmination of the AFL Sydney Lower Division Competitions for the 2010 seasons.
All four grades have been very competitive and tomorrow's Grand Final matchups should ensure the deciders are closely contested.
In Division Two Southern Power will be looking for their first flag since 1984 when they take on UTS. UTS on the otherhand will be looking to go one step further than last year when they lost the decider to Macquarie University.
These two sides have dominated this competition with each side only losing one game apiece in the home and away season, that was to each other.
Southern Power will be relying on the classy midfield in Phil Hamer, Liam Davis, Matt Graham and Stu Brierty to win enough of the football to give century goalkicker Alan Fritsch enough opportunities to kick a winning score.
UTS on the other hand have a sharpshooter of their own in Andrew Than. Thain has been a prolific goalkicker over the years in any grade that he has played.
UTS will also be looking to Barry Holland, Darren Clinton and Roch Hanmore to continue their good recent form whilst Alex Whooley's duel with the Power's Bill Oakley in the ruck could be pivotal to the outcome of this game.
Meetings this year
Rd 8 @ Gwawley Southern Power 12.16.88 def UTS 5.3.33
Rd 17 @ Trumper UTS 11.10.76 def Southern Power 10.6.66
2nd Semi Final @ Henson Park Southern Power 6.15.51 def UTS 4.6.30
Moorebank Sports and Penrith will both be looking to end fairy tale seasons with a Premiership when they meet in the Division Three decider.
Moorebank finished the season as minor premiers with only two losses whilst Penrith finished the regular season in third position.
The Magpies will enter the game full of confidence having accounted for the Rams in both their meetings this year however Penrith are on a roll having elinminated both Southern Power and UTS during the finals.
Meetings this year
Rd 9 @ Greygums Moorebank Sports 13.7.85 def Penrith 6.5.41
Rd 15 @ Rosedale Moorebank Sports 11.11.77 def Penrith 10.6.66
Auburn will be looking to end their inaugural season as undefeated Premiers when they battle with Moorebank Sports in the Division Four Grand Final.
Auburn rejoined the AFL Sydney competition this year and have taken all before them and will enter the decider as clearcut favourites.
Moorebank however will also enter the game with confidence in the knowledge that they pushed the Tigers to just seven points in their only encounter this year. The Magpies have also improved throughout the finals having eliminated Mac Uni Warriors and Saints afc.
Meetings this year
Rd 15 @ Rosedale Auburn 12.6.78 def Moorebank Sports 11.4.70
The Under 18's Challenge Cup decider will see Penrith enter the game as clear cut favourites over Holroyd Parramatta.
The Rams have dominated this competition all year however Holroyd Parramatta will take heart from the fact that some of the greatest upsets in sport have been in Grand Finals.
