Match Report by coach Lachie Smith
In what was always
going to be a tough encounter with competition leaders UNSW/ES we came
out firing looking to match the high scoring Bulldogs. We started
strongly, rebounding well out of the defensive line. Through strong
running we created multiple scoring opportunities to go into the quarter
time break just five point behind.
The second quarter
was a much different affair as we struggled to get numbers at the ball
and make an impact at the contests. The Bulldogs scored seven unanswered
goals for the quarter, a deficit we never looked like making up.
The second half saw
us play with plenty of heart though we were no match for the highly
rated UNSW/ES side who ran out easy victors. Although well beaten we are
starting to come together as a team. The back line worked together
really well and rebounded strongly as we had worked on in training.
Next Saturday we take
on Holroyd Parramatta with both teams searching for their first win of
the season. Looking towards next week we aim to play four quarters of
consistent football. Everything we wanted to achieve this week we
managed in patches, but if we can piece that together for a full game
I am confident we can come away successful against the Goannas.

Reserve Grade Match Report
The reserve grade team put in a great effort against a vastly more experienced and skilled team in Sydney Uni who are obviously playing in a division lower than they should be. Despite losing by a large margin, the Rams managed to outscore Sydney Uni in the second quarter. Great game from James Karamanos showing his skill and pace out of the backline. Also a great performance from first gamers Rodney Lloyd who rucked all day against two experienced ruckman, and Mark 'Macca' McLean who kicked his first goal for the club
After a great start to the match, the Rams couldn't match it with
the highscoring Bulldogs. But there were positive signs. Reas over for
coach Lachlan Smith's match review
