The AFL (NSW/ACT Western Sydney region) in conjunction with the Penrith Rams Football Club is inviting players to attend a
pre-season training camp which is currently being run at Dukes Oval, Emu Plains.
The camp will run for a further three Wednesday nights, finishing up on 10 December.
Specialist coaches from the AFL along with the Penrith Rams U/18’s coaching team for 2009, Kevin Tate and Barry King-Smith, will conduct the sessions with a view to providing you with the best possible preparation for next season.
This season saw Penrith narrowly miss out on a finals berth in the Sydney AFL U/18’s Challenge Cup competition, with wins over eventual Grand Finalists the Southern Sharks along with tight losses to other finalists in Manly and Macquarie University. A number of this team are eligible for the U/18’s again in 2009, so the focus for next year will be on nothing short of the ultimate success.
We pride ourselves on being the region` representatives in the Sydney AFL U/18’s competition, with players this year coming together from a number of successful local junior clubs.
Our coaching staff are very much committed to bringing on field success to this team as we further strengthen & build our playing list with quality additions from those players who are graduating from the local U/16’s competition in 2008.
We would love to see you at any of these sessions at Dukes Oval to get a head start on your preparations for next season. We will be undertaking intensive skills and fitness work, and be providing quality coaching and feedback in order to give you the best possible start to senior football.
For those that would like to be a part of the Penrith Rams U/18’s side in 2009, pre-season training will begin early in the New Year.
