UNSW ES have announced that Tracey Kick has accepted the position as Head of Women’s Football to oversee the development of the clubs women’s program.
Club President Steven Dunkley spoke of the importance of such a role “As women’s football continues to grow nationally with the evolution of the National Women’s League, we have expanded Kick’s role this season and will look to her for leadership and guidance in this space”
Kick, the incumbent Stingray’s Premiership winning coach, and Sydney AFL Women’s Coach of the year, has already commenced training for returning and aspiring players and will look to solidify the playing squad in early 2017.
In a further coup for the club, Kevin Dyson has been appointed to a dual coaching role with last years under 19 Grand Final coach Steven Chitchester. Dyson comes to the club after 10 years in junior coaching roles at East Sydney Junior Football Club and brings with him over 100 games AFL experience at Melbourne and the Sydney Swans.
“Our junior development pathways for both men’s and women’s football are very important to our long term future and we are very fortunate to have these quality appointments in charge”, remarked Dunkley.
“We’re delighted to have these senior positions confirmed in the lead up to 2017, and are now seeking candidates for Men’s Division 2, Division 4 and 5 and Women’s Division One to join this coaching panel”.
