Jack Jones wins the Armstrong Medal (Division Four Best and Fairest)
North Shore Bombers player Jack Jones has claimed the Armstrong Medal as he topped of a successful season in front of a packed room at Doltone House on Monday night.
Jack, who is just 21 years of age won the Armstrong Medal is a close run race finishing with 18 votes, 2 votes ahead of Macquarie University’s Johnathan Edmondson. Jack had a great year where he played 17 games in Division Four where he polled 7 times, including an impressive 5 best on ground performances where Jack picked up the three votes.
Jack had an incredible middle part of the year picking up three votes in Round 5, 7, 8 and 9 which ultimately propelled him into Armstrong Medal contention. Jack Jones has been a force to be reckoned with up forward this season as he as he kicked 29 goals to lead the North Shore Bombers goal kicking as well as finishing 7th overall in the Division Four goal kickers tally.
Johnathan Edmundson (Macquarie University) finished in second place on 16 votes while Callum Andrews (St George Dragons), Taylor Currant (South West Sydney) and Stewart Thompson (Macquarie University) all finished equal third on 14 votes.
