Camden Cats speedster Brandon Lovrić has won the New South Wales Heats of the 13CABS AFL Sprint, booking his place in the sprint semi-final to be held this Friday night, 2 September.
The AFL announced earlier in the year that the traditional AFL Grand Final Sprint, raced over 100 metres, will this year include the fastest state league and community footballers for the first time.
The fastest footballers are currently being determined through a series of heats and a semi-final in the lead up to the AFL Grand Final, with Lovrić comfortably winning the NSW heat on 19 August.
He now moves through to the semi-final stage, which will be held this Friday night during half-time of the tradingpost.com EJ Whitten Legends Game, at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
If he advances to the final, held during half-time of 2016 Toyota AFL Grand Final, he will have the opportunity to race against the fastest players in the AFL, with each AFL club being asked to nominate one representative from their playing list to compete.
Good luck Brandon!
