Women's Round 12 Rising Star Elise Arangio (Newtown Breakaways)

AFL Sydney is pleased to announce the Round 12 Women's Rising Star is Elise Arangio from the Newtown Breakaways.

Elise grew up in Perth watching Australian football with her Father, a passionate Fremantle Dockers supporter. She spent a majority of her youth as a Surf Life Saver and participating in Athletics briefly, but did not play any team sports.

This year has been her first season playing football and she has adapted well to such a high intensity/physical game. Elise has learnt many new skills from her coaches, team mates and from her Father in relation to AFL, and she is becoming a more confident player after every round. Elise says “The Newtown Breakaways continue to be a welcoming and positive community that I am very proud to be a part of” and we here at Newtown are very lucky and happy to have her on board as one of our rookies for 2016.
